One value month
Pick one company value for the month and help your team notice it in everyday work. Values stop being words on a wall and become things people actually see.

Why it works
Most companies have values, but few people can say what they look like on a normal Tuesday. Focusing on one value at a time makes it concrete. People start looking for real examples, and those examples show everyone what the value means in practice.
By the end of the month, the team has a shared picture of the value built from their own work, not from a slide.
How to run it
- Choose the value. Pick one company value for the month. Start with the one your team talks about least.
- Explain it in plain words. In the launch post, describe what this value looks like in your team's daily work, with one or two examples.
- Recognize it all month. Encourage people to give karma for this value whenever they see it.
- Share examples mid-month. Post two or three good thank-yous to keep the focus alive.
- Wrap up. At the end of the month, share the best examples and thank everyone who took part.
- Pick the next value. Move through your values one by one, or come back to the one that needs the most attention.
Message templates

How Karma helps
In Karma, every thank-you is tied to one of your company values, so you can see exactly how often and where a value shows up. Learn more about peer recognition in Karma.
How to measure
Compare the month before and the month of the habit in Culture analytics:
- what share of karma was given for the chosen value;
- which teams recognized it most and least;
- whether the value stays more visible in the following months.

Common mistakes
- Copying the value's definition from the handbook. Explain it in your team's own words.
- Choosing a value nobody can relate to. If it's hard to give an example, spend more time on the launch post.
- Skipping the wrap-up. The best examples are what people remember.
Frequently asked questions
Should people stop recognizing other values this month?
No. Other thanks still count. The focus value just gets extra attention.
How long should we spend on one value?
A month works well. A week is too short to build the habit, a quarter is too long to keep the focus.
