Monthly highlights
Once a month, share the most meaningful thank-yous your team sent. Not a leaderboard of who got the most, but the moments worth remembering.

Why it works
Thank-yous scroll away within a day. A monthly look back gives the best ones a second life: people who were thanked feel noticed again, and everyone else sees what good work looks like on your team.
Focusing on stories instead of numbers keeps it fair. Nobody ends up at the bottom of a table, and a single sincere thank-you can be the highlight of the month.
How to run it
- Collect the thanks. At the end of the month, look through the karma your team sent.
- Pick 5–7 highlights. Choose specific, warm messages that show real impact. Try to cover different people, teams and values.
- Write a short post. Quote or retell each highlight in one line.
- Share it. Post in a company or team channel, or include it in your internal newsletter.
- Bring it to 1:1s. Managers can mention the thanks a person received during their next one-on-one.
How to pick a highlight
- It names a specific action, not just "great job".
- It shows why the help mattered.
- It comes from someone outside the person's closest circle.
- It recognizes work that's easy to miss.

How Karma helps
Karma keeps all your team's thank-yous in one place, tied to company values, so finding the best ones takes minutes instead of scrolling through chats. Learn more about peer recognition in Karma.
How to measure
Check in Culture analytics month to month:
- how many people sent and received karma;
- whether more different teams and people appear in the highlights;
- whether activity grows in the weeks after each post.
Free FigJam templates
- Use the Newsletter Template to include monthly highlights in your internal newsletter.
- Use the One-on-one Meeting Template to add received thanks to your next 1:1.
Common mistakes
- Turning it into a ranking. Avoid "top karma receivers". Show stories, not scores.
- Always the same names. Look for highlights from different people and teams.
- Posting without context. Add one line on why each thank-you mattered.
Frequently asked questions
Should we ask people before sharing their message?
If thanks were sent publicly, sharing them is usually fine. For private messages, always ask first.
Who should write the post?
HR or a team lead to start. Later, you can rotate it between team members.
